Milby has been on the road for five straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Chavez Lobos at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Milby focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Friday.
Even though Milby has not done well against Wisdom recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Milby took down Wisdom 47-28. The win was just what Milby needed coming off of a 48-17 loss in their prior matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Milby to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ke'lia Smith, who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Smith has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Nayeli Medina, who scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Chavez came up short against Incarnate Word Academy on Saturday and fell 33-20.
Milby's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Chavez, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 1-8-1 record this season.
