The L.E.A.D. Academy Lions suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 75-46 loss at the hands of Munroe. While losing is never fun, L.E.A.D. Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 735th, while Munroe is ranked 228th).
Despite the loss, L.E.A.D. Academy still got an impressive performance from Donovan Dean, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jase Peaden, who scored two points along with six rebounds.
Karlton Knight continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Munroe, scoring 23 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Knight continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Leith Kenon, who scored eight points along with five steals.
L.E.A.D. Academy's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-13. As for Munroe, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.
L.E.A.D. Academy will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Pensacola Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. As for Munroe, they will head out on the road to face off against St. John Paul II at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully St. John Paul II focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday.
