Millard West extended the longest winning streak in A District 1 this week by beating Omaha Northwest, 55-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
The Huskies fell to Millard West 55-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Mitch Wynne was a bright spot for Omaha Northwest, as he ran for 46 yards in the loss.
Creighton Prep's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Easton Stick threw for 156 and 1 touchdown and Trystn Ducker had 73 yards receiving. On the ground Stick chipped in 160 yards. James Scott helped Creighton Prep's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 46 yards.
Stick put up the best numbers in passing as the Junior Jays topped Bellevue East.
Creighton Prep's Stick and R.j. Urzendowski have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Stick has thrown for 1,516 yards this season, while Urzendowski, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 47 catches for 873 yards. Wynne from Tim Clemenger's team leads the league in rushing with 681 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Kirk Peterson's team takes on the Chieftains. As it stands, the Wildcats are in first, while Bellevue East is in fourth.
The Huskies made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,653 from 11,081. The improvement was largely due to a 55-0 victory over Omaha Northwest last week.
