The Wagoner Bulldogs will take on the Broken Bow Savages at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, Wagoner got the win against Oologah by a conclusive 49-28. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Wagoner got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Keyshaun Brown out in front who rushed for 76 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries, and also threw for 192 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Those three passing touchdowns gave Brown a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Collin Moore, who rushed for 168 yards and one score while picking up 10.5 yards per carry.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Wagoner was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 360 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Broken Bow hadn't done well against Poteau recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Savages blew past the Pirates 36-14. The game was the first time the Savages have beaten the Pirates on their field since October 27, 2017.
Broken Bow's win came from a few key players Wagoner will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Greydon Howell, who rushed for 96 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 225 yards and one TD while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt. Broken Bow's leading receiver Dejhaun Hall was Howell's top target yet again, picking up 158 receiving yards and one score, while also punching in one TD on the ground.
Broken Bow's record now sits at 9-1. As for Wagoner, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Wagoner has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 196.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Broken Bow struggles in that department as they've been averaging 262.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Wagoner against Broken Bow when the teams last played back in November of 2023, as the team secured a 57-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
