The Longview Lobos will head out on the road to square off against the Whitehouse Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Longview is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Longview gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Pine Tree a 3-0 shutout.
Meanwhile, Whitehouse beat Hallsville 2-0 on Saturday. Given Whitehouse's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Hallsville is ranked 488th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Whitehouse was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Joel Mangieri and
Braxton Ladwig, who scored both of Whitehouse's goals. The pair have combined for a total of ten so far this season.
Longview pushed their record up to 10-4 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those three matchups. As for Whitehouse, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3-1.
