Even though the Jackson County Panthers scored an imposing 59 points on Saturday, the Heritage Patriots still came out on top. Heritage skirted past Jackson County 62-59.
Heritage got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyerra Johnson out in front who scored 17 points. Johnson also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Kennedy Davis was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Heritage now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Jackson County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage will take on Clarke Central at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Clarke Central is ranked 291st, while Heritage is ranked 280th). As for Jackson County, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Apalachee at 6:00 p.m. on January 3rd.
