Basketball Recap: Davenport Wins Going Away Against Bandera

In Wednesday's Canine Competition, Davenport prevailed. They were the clear victor by a 75-55 margin over the Bandera BULLDOGS on Wednesday. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Brandon Castilla, who went 14 for 18 on his way to 32 points and four steals. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Mckinney, who made all 7 shots he took to post 15 points and three steals.

Despite the loss, Bandera still got an impressive performance from Elijah Salas, who went 6 of 12 en route to 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Salas is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Beau Bergfeld was another key player, going 5 for 8 on his way to 10 points.

Davenport is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which somehow still isn't as good as their 23-4 record this season. As for Bandera, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 18-9.

Davenport will head out to face off against Wimberley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Davenport has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Bandera has already played their next match (against Canyon Lake), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
