The Live Oak Acorns had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 58-52 win over Gilroy on Thursday. For Live Oak, this counts as revenge for the 61-43 loss Gilroy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Live Oak to victory, but perhaps none more so than Austin Jennings, who scored 20 points. The matchup was Jennings' 13th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nathan Lozano, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Live Oak's victory bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Gilroy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-11.
Live Oak will stay at home for another game and welcome Leland at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for Gilroy, they will head out on the road to face off against Silver Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
