Basketball Recap: Elverado Piles Up the Points Against Egyptian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elverado). They blew past the Egyptian Pharaohs, posting a 79-47 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Falcons also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Egyptian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Damarion Clark, who went 10 for 24 on his way to 26 points, and Will Lessar, who posted eight points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Lessar a new career-high in points.

With the win, Elverado broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-7. As for Egyptian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Elverado will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Shawnee at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025. Elverado is facing Shawnee at the right time seeing as Shawnee is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. Egyptian will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Northside Baptist Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
