Robertson led 3A District 2 in scoring this week after putting up 30 points on Raton. Dominic Lucero ran for 107 yards in the win.
Taos made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,812 from 10,970. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 21-0 victory over West Las Vegas last week.
The Cardinals' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Nathan Lesperance threw for 69 yards and Joe Armijo had 40 yards receiving. Javier Trujillo helped Robertson's passing attack out by catching one ball for 19 yards.
Pojoaque Valley's John Ainsworth and Juan Rios have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Ainsworth has thrown for 1054 yards this season, while Rios, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 20 catches for 414 yards. Isaac Gonzales from the Tigers leads the league in rushing with 1195 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Robertson takes on Taos. Leroy Gonzalez's team is currently in third, while Flavio Lopez's team is in first.
