Softball Recap: Elmore County Has No Trouble Against Dadeville

It was a proper cat-fight when Elmore County took on Dadeville on Tuesday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 14-1 win. That 13 run margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

Lalah Culpepper made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. Culpepper was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-5. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, Addison Hicks was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Baileigh Ames also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Elmore County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Elmore County is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Dadeville, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elmore County will take on Beauregard at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Panthers have won five straight at home, while the Hornets won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Dadeville, they will challenge Lee-Scott Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
