They claimed a resounding 59-31 victory over Port Allegany on the road. Given Cameron County's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Port Allegany is ranked 541st), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cameron County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ryan Shaffer, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Shaffer has scored at least 25% of Cameron County's points. Another player making a difference was Josh Smith, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds.
Cameron County pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24.25 points. As for Port Allegany, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Cameron County will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Northern Potter at 6:00 p.m. Northern Potter is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Port Allegany, they will head out on the road to face off against Galeton at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
