AA Region VI recap Oct. 30, 2012
Stuart Walters of Academic Magnet ran for the longest rushing play in AA Region VI this season against Battery Creek last week. Walters scampered for 90 yards on the play and finished with 286 on the day as his team lost to the Dolphins.
Bishop England extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Ridgeland/Hardeeville, 41-8. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Battling Bishops.
Academic Magnet's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Walters threw for 42 and one touchdown and Zac Seeber had 32 yards receiving. Logan Chuy helped Academic Magnet's passing attack out by catching one ball for 10 yards.
Burke's Craig Williams and Smith Devon have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-7 quarterback Williams has thrown for 922 yards this season, while Devon has 24 catches for 573 yards. Walters from Bud Walpole's team leads the league in rushing with 1465 yards.
