The Dade Christian Crusaders will be playing at home against the Central Rockets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dade Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 416th, while Central is ranked 130th).
On Wednesday, Dade Christian lost to Florida Christian on the road by a decisive 68-50 margin.
Defeat or not, Dade Christian got some senior leadership from Kenvenson Malivert and Kevin Rojo. Malivert scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks, while Rojo. scored eight points along with eight assists. Malivert is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 13 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cristian Villa, who scored five points.
Meanwhile, Central entered their tilt with Plantation with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Central snuck past Plantation with a 67-63 win on Monday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Dwight Carter continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Suarez, who scored 11 points.
Dade Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Dade Christian hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 52.6 points per game. However, it's not like Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 66.2 points per game.
