Garrard County was the  14-0 winner over Wayne County when they last played one another  back in May of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. The Garrard County Golden Lions fell just short of the Wayne County Cardinals by a score of  9-8 on Saturday. Garrard County has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Keannanh Childress and  Jazlyn Shelton stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Childress  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3, while  Shelton  scored a  run while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was  Molly Abney, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
 Garrard County now  has a losing record at 7-8. As for Wayne County, their win  ended  a  five-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 2-10.
 Coincidentally,  the pair will both be playing Whitley County the next time they take the field. Garrard County will head out to face Whitley County at 1:30  p.m.  on Saturday, while Wayne County will play them later in the day, at 11:00  a.m.
