Garland's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Sachse on Monday. The Owls' pitcher stepped up to hand the South Garland Titans a 15-0 shutout. The Owls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 11 runs or more this season.

Melody Alarcon was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mady Key, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Karmen Sanders, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Garland hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Garland's win bumped their record up to 11-5-1. As for South Garland, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Garland wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-0 victory against Naaman Forest on the 1st. South Garland has also already played their next matchup (against Wylie), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
