Girard hasn't had much luck against Poland Seminary recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Indians will host the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Girard's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Chaney with a sharp 16-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Chloe Plant made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.
In other batting news, Caylee Wilkes was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Kyra Bell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Girard was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .524. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Poland Seminary made easy work of West Branch on Friday and carried off a 9-3 win. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Lillian McDonald spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Elliana Thompson, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Sydney Bulick, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Girard's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Poland Seminary, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Girard has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .527. However, it's not like Poland Seminary struggles in that department as they've averaged .489. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
