The NFL Yet Academy Eagles lost against the Heritage Academy Heroes two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. NFL Yet Academy took a 66-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Heroes. While losing is never fun, NFL Yet Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while the Heroes are ranked 126th).
Despite the loss, NFL Yet Academy still got an impressive performance from ABEL RUIZ, who scored 31 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points RUIZ has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of RAUL LARA-CASTILLO, who scored 12 points.
Cameron Irby continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Heritage Academy, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten assists. It was the first time this season that Irby posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Danye Sypho, who scored 17 points.
This is the second loss in a row for NFL Yet Academy and nudges their season record down to 7-16. As for Heritage Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-6.
NFL Yet Academy will head out on the road to square off against the Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mohave Accelerated is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Heritage Academy will take on the Shamrocks at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Yuma Catholic has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 817 points over their last 11 matches.
