Las Animas hasn't had much luck against Peyton recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Trojans will square off against the Panthers at 10:00 a.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Saturday.
Las Animas is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Calhan with a sharp 19-4 victory on Wednesday. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Orion Martinez was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Jesus Lopez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and three RBI.
Las Animas was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Peyton got themselves on the board against Mitchell on Friday, but Mitchell never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 24-0 margin over the Marauders. The game marked the Panthers' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Dalton Gray looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.
On the hitting side, Peyton got a massive performance out of Zayden Ebbert, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Ebbert is becoming a predictor of the Panthers' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Brennan Christiansen, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.
Peyton now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Las Animas, their record now sits at 7-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Las Animas has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Peyton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
