Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Wink's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Wink won the last time they faced McCamey and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wildcats blew past the Badgers 19-4. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Viviana Flores was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kaylee Jones was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Khloe Mendoza was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Wink kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McCamey didn't got any hits.

Wink has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for McCamey, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Looking ahead, Wink will be playing in front of their home fans against Forsan at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Buffaloes will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for McCamey, they are taking a road trip to take on Van Horn at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Badgers are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
