The Coeur du Christ Academy Saints gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 62-42 margin over Immaculate Conception Academy. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-19.
Despite the loss, Immaculate Conception Academy still got an impressive performance from Dominic Wilhelm, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 18 rebounds. Wilhelm scored a full 71.4% of Immaculate Conception Academy's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Coeur du Christ Academy's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Immaculate Conception Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Coeur du Christ Academy will head out on the road to face off against Kellogg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Immaculate Conception Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Clark Fork at 6:00 p.m. on December 18th.
