It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the New Diana Eagles can now relate to. They received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 50-35 to West Rusk. New Diana's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Leading West Rusk to victory were Cole Jackson and Noah Murphy. Jackson rushed for 125 yards and three touchdowns, while Murphy rushed for 185 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. Murphy was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. Ty Harper made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
New Diana's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for West Rusk, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2.
New Diana does not have any more games scheduled as of now. West Rusk will take on Daingerfield at TBD on Friday.
