Football Recap: Cooper Piles Up the Points Against Lubbock-Cooper

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cooper). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 66-16 win over the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates. With the Cougars ahead 35-10 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Jaden Carrillo produced another solid performance throwing for 263 yards and six TDs, while also rushing for 80 yards and one score on only 11 carries.

Carrillo was just one part of a punishing run game: Cooper was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 254 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 205 rushing yards in five consecutive contests.

Cooper is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.3 points over those games. As for Lubbock-Cooper, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
