The Kentlake Falcons will head out to challenge the Federal Way Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
On Monday, Kentlake got the win against Jefferson by a conclusive 7-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.
Riley Linnane spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 17 Ks.
On the hitting side, Josie Pedeferri was excellent, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Hi'Ilei Gomes, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Federal Way not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 28, 2024. They blew past Beamer 18-2. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Eagles' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Eva Adriano made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single hit and allowed only two earned runs while striking out six over five innings pitched. Adriano was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4.
In other batting news, Federal Way got a massive performance out of Meeghan Meagher, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Sosephina Sailiai was another key player, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple.
Federal Way always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beamer only posted an OBP of .348.
Federal Way's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Kentlake, their record now sits at 2-0.
Kentlake took their victory against Federal Way when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kentlake since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
