Davis has gone 7-2 against Viewmont recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. Davis will venture away from home to face off against Viewmont at 3:30 p.m. Davis is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
Things were looking good for Davis after they put the first points on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Pleasant Grove, falling 17-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Darts have suffered since March 19, 2024.
Norah Sunderland made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jewel Korth, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI and one double.
Sunderland wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Davis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Viewmont). They put the hurt on Woods Cross with a sharp 15-8 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won seven in a row.
London Dickerson was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits. Dickerson was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Ricki Smith was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Karli Dickerson also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Davis has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. Viewmont's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-5.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Davis hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Viewmont struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
