Armwood is 1-6 against Newsome since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Armwood Hawks will be staying on the road to face off against the Newsome Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Wednesday, Armwood came up short against Middleton and fell 48-36.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Talon Mckinnie, who scored ten points along with two steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Abe Diallo, who scored two points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Newsome's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 56-47 to Bloomingdale.
Armwood has been struggling recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Newsome, they bumped their record down to 7-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Armwood took a serious blow against Newsome in their previous matchup back in January of 2022, falling 73-35. Can Armwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
