Nathan Hale has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Coweta Tigers at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, everything went Nathan Hale's way against Webster as Nathan Hale made off with a 73-50 win. Given Nathan Hale's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Webster is ranked 389th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Coweta unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Will Rogers College by a score of 58-55. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Coweta has suffered yet this season.
Despite their defeat, Coweta saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Noah Cooper, who scored 15 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Caden Garrett, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Nathan Hale's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Coweta, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
