After flying high against the Stringer Red Devils last Thursday, the Leake County Gators came back down to earth. Leake County took a 51-32 bruising from Taylorsville on Friday. Leake County has struggled against Taylorsville recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Leake County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Daishone Turner, who scored five points along with two steals. Elora Ben was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Leake County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season. As for Taylorsville, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 18-11.
Leake County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-44 defeat vs. Simmons on the 12th. Taylorsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
