Antelope Valley is 0-10 against Quartz Hill since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Antelope Valley Antelopes will look to defend their home court against the Quartz Hill Royals at 6:30 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Antelope Valley has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Quartz Hill will arrive with four straight wins.
Antelope Valley pushed their score all the way to 59 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Highland 64-59.
Defeat or not, Antelope Valley got some senior leadership from Kiwan Sims and Pierce Hill. Sims scored 23 points, while Hill. scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hill has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Quartz Hill didn't have too much trouble with Eastside at home on Monday as they won 59-42. Given Quartz Hill's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 409th, while Eastside is ranked 868th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Antelope Valley dropped their record down to 6-18 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home. As for Quartz Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 14-10.
Antelope Valley was dealt a bruising 68-21 loss at the hands of Quartz Hill in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Antelope Valley was down 41-17.
