Oakleaf had lost five straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 2-16 to make it six. They came up short against Creekside, falling 15-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Oakleaf of the 5-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.
Ava Tolbert and Amaya Fisher did some serious damage despite the final result: Tolbert went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI, while Fisher went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
As for Creekside, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. The result was nothing new for Creekside, who have now won 12 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
On Creekside's side, Isabella Seymour was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off 12 hits. Seymour has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Creekside let Hailey Cunningham and Maddie Hollis run wild. Cunningham went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Hollis went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. That's the most RBI Cunningham has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Robbins, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oakleaf will welcome Fletcher at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Creekside, they will be playing in front of their home fans against University Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 3.7, the Fighting Christians 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
