Hempfield Area's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over Norwin. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Spartans have posted against the Knights since April 10, 2017.
Hempfield Area let Jorjah Ostrosky and Allie Cervola run wild. Ostrosky went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Cervola went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave Ostrosky a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Claire Mitchell, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Seneca Valley got the win against Butler on Monday by a conclusive 11-4.
Paige Volze was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Neve Miller was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Seneca Valley lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Butler didn't launched any home runs.
Seneca Valley's win bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Hempfield Area, their victory bumped their record up to 21-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Hempfield Area hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Seneca Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.1 home runs.
