Saddleback gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 26-7 victory over the Santiago Cavaliers.
Saddleback got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Andre Scott out in front who threw for 149 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Favian Soria helped Scott out on the ground, picking up 52 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Saddleback's defense and their six sacks. Santiago's QB won't forget Johannes Bustos anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Andrew Alvarez got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Looking ahead, Saddleback will challenge South El Monte at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Santiago, they will take on Rancho Alamitos at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
