Hubbard was the  2-1 winner over Dawson when they last played one another  last Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Jaguars fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of  6-5 on Friday.  Alyssa Kraayvanger was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  seven innings while giving up  four earned  (and two unearned) runs off   four  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 3-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Keagan Boyd made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-4 with two  RBI and one  double. Another player making a difference was  Brooklyn Tabors, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  RBI.
Hubbard dropped their record down to 10-7-2 with the  defeat, which was their fourth straight  at home. As for Dawson, they moved to 5-15 with that  victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.
 Looking ahead, Hubbard will head out to  square off against Riesel  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Jaguars will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last three games. As for Dawson, they will be playing at home against Axtell  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
