The Seton Catholic Central Saints were the 45-35 winner over the Troy Trojans when they last played one another back in December of 2015, but their luck changed this time around. Seton Catholic Central suffered a rough 55-35 loss at the hands of Troy on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Seton Catholic Central has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Seton Catholic Central still got an impressive performance from Drew Erickson, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. The match was Erickson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnny Hopf, who scored seven points.
Seton Catholic Central struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Seton Catholic Central's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Troy, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Seton Catholic Central won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Starpoint at 1:30 p.m. on December 29th. Starpoint is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Troy is on the road again on January 5, 2024 and play against Athens at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Athens is on a five-game streak of home wins, Troy a four-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
