Softball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Creekside

Creekside extended their winning streak to five on Saturday, bumping them up to 13-3. They put the hurt on the Sunlake Seahawks with a sharp 12-2 victory. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by seven runs or more this season.

Isabella Seymour was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Seymour was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emma Campbell, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Hailey Cunningham, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

As for Sunlake, they moved to 13-6 with that defeat, which also ended their ten-game winning streak. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Sunlake's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Siders, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Creekside will head out to take on Menendez at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.44 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Sunlake, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Angeline Academy of Innovation at 7:00 p.m. on April 7. The Archers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.33 runs per game on average), something the Seahawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
