Blackstone-Millville has been on the road for four straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Southbridge Pioneers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
Last Friday, Blackstone-Millville came up short against Whitinsville Christian and fell 33-25.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Marren Berry, who scored 11 points. Grace Buzzell was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Southbridge, who are still winless after their fifth match. They were beaten by Quaboag Regional 45-14 last Thursday.
Blackstone-Millville has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season. As for Southbridge, they bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road.
Blackstone-Millville strolled past Southbridge when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 47-33. Does Blackstone-Millville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Southbridge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
