Lake Norman is 6-0 against West Rowan since November of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Lake Norman Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the West Rowan Falcons at 7:30 p.m. Lake Norman will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Even though North Lincoln scored an imposing 59 points on Friday, Lake Norman still came out on top. Lake Norman walked away with a 69-59 win over North Lincoln. Given Lake Norman's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while North Lincoln is ranked 224th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, even though Lake Norman Charter scored an imposing 71 points on Friday, West Rowan still came out on top. West Rowan snuck past Lake Norman Charter with a 76-71 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for West Rowan.
West Rowan's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Will Givens, who scored 20 points along with 8 rebounds, and Kayvone Norman, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Givens has scored at least 25% of West Rowan's points. Elijah Holmes was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists.
Their wins bumped Lake Norman to 6-0 and North Lincoln to 1-2.
Lake Norman beat West Rowan 68-58 in their previous matchup back in January of 2020. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Norman since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
