Basketball Recap: Cole Henderson Key Part of a Team Effort in Lions Win

St. Paul's Prep won the last time they faced Joshua Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The St. Paul's Prep Lions put the hurt on the Joshua Christian Knights with a sharp 65-43 victory. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Paul's Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cole Henderson, who went 9 of 11 en route to 18 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Those 18 points gave Henderson a new career-high. Wyatt Tate was another key player, going 7 for 12 on his way to 15 points and six steals.

St. Paul's Prep was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Tristan Millspaugh and Isaac Johnson certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Millspaugh posted 18 points, while Johnson earned 15 points. That was a full 41.9% of Joshua Christian's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points.

The win made it two in a row for St. Paul's Prep and bumps their season record up to 8-9. As for Joshua Christian, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Heritage Christian Academy the next time they take the court. St. Paul's Prep will host Heritage Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Joshua Christian will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on February 3rd.
