Poudre is 3-0 against Brighton since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Poudre Impalas will be playing in front of their home fans against the Brighton Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
On Saturday, Poudre was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 34-33 to Erie. While losing is never fun, Poudre can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Erie is ranked 27th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Samantha Orr, who scored five points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaqueline Forrest, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Brighton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by Rocky Mountain 82-18. Brighton has not had much luck with Rocky Mountain recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Poudre's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Brighton, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-11.
Poudre didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Brighton in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 35-31 victory. Will Poudre repeat their success, or does Brighton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
