Chester dropped their record down to 8-5 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Port Jervis Raiders by a score of 3-2. Hambletonians fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Raiders since on Thursday.

As for Port Jervis, they pushed their record up to 5-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted against Chester since May 14, 2018.

For Port Jervis' part, the team relied heavily on Joseph Olenick, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits Olenick has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Mesnick, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.

Coincidentally, Chester and Port Jervis will both be playing Sullivan West the next time they take the field. The Raiders will head out to face the Bulldogs at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Hambletonians will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
