The Lena-Winslow Panthers will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Camp Point Central Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on November 24th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
With a playoff game on the line, Lena-Winslow rose to the challenge on Saturday. They had just enough and edged Chicago Hope Academy out 30-28. 30 seems to be a good number for Lena-Winslow as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, Camp Point Central put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Greenfield/Northwestern 54-20 at home. Considering Camp Point Central has won 11 matchups by more than 19 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Elijah Genenbacher, who rushed for 177 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. Drew Paben got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Lena-Winslow pushed their record up to 13-0 with that victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Camp Point Central, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 13-0.
Lena-Winslow took their win against Camp Point Central in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 by a conclusive 30-8. Does Lena-Winslow have another victory up their sleeve, or will Camp Point Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
