Northwest recap October 29, 2013
Lima Central Catholic extended the longest winning streak in Northwest this week by beating Allen East, 37-24. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Ada moved up to 221 from 260 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bulldogs climbed the ranks as a result of beating Jefferson 25-20.
Columbus Grove's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Riley Brubaker has thrown for 728 yards and 6 touchdowns this season, while Mason Smith has 15 catches for 265 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Lima Central Catholic takes on Ada. At the moment, the Thunderbirds are in second, while Bob Olwin's team is in fourth.
The Bulldogs and the Wildcats played the closest game in Northwest this week, with the Bulldogs eventually emerging with a 25-20 victory.
