Softball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Triway's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Triway's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Northwest Indians a 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Lexi Long, who gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks to keep Northwest off the board.

At the plate, Myah Lester was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Alyssa Hochstetler was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Triway was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northwest only posted a batting average of .045.

Triway has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Northwest, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Triway will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Indians: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
