The Wingfield Falcons fell victim to the McComb Tigers''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 52-0 loss at the hands of the Tigers. Wingfield just can't catch a break and has now endured five losses in a row.
It was another big night for Jamarcus Pittman, who threw for 210 yards and four touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Pittman is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last five games he's played. Fred Wells also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Wingfield's loss was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.6 points per game. As for McComb, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Wingfield will be playing in front of their home fans against Lanier on Friday. Lanier comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for McComb, they will head out on the road to face off against Raymond at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Raymond will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
