Softball Recap: Master's Academy Wins Going Away Against Merritt Island Christian

Master's Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Merritt Island Christian, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Master's Academy Eagles blew past the Merritt Island Christian Cougars 14-4 on Tuesday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Adelaide Wells looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Kamryn Mennenga was a standout: she scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February of 2024. Isa Moya was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Master's Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Master's Academy now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Merritt Island Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Master's Academy will venture away from home to challenge Lyman at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Master's Academy is facing Lyman at the right time seeing as Lyman is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Merritt Island Christian, they will challenge Bayside at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Merritt Island Christian has given up an average of 10.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
