Even though the Granada Bobcats have not done well against the Holly Wildcats recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Granada really took it to Holly for the full four quarters, racking up a 53-21 victory on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Granada has posted yet this season.
Granada was led to victory by Marissa Valenzuela and Mariah Sigala. Valenzuela scored eight points along with 16 steals and seven assists, while Sigala scored 26 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sigala has scored all season. Another player making a difference was ToriLin Riddle, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Granada now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Holly, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Granada will take on Kit Carson at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Kit Carson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday. As for Holly, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Las Animas at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
