Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Stinna Grubb and Kate Minton Lead Colonial Christian to Victory

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Colonial Christian's strategy against Heartland Christian on Friday. The Colonial Christian Cougars enjoyed a cozy 45-26 win over the Heartland Christian Saints. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 39-34 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Colonial Christian was led to victory by Kate Minton and Stinna Grubb. Minton went 7 of 14 en route to 14 points and eight rebounds, while Grubb dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten assists. Minton is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Addie Gillen, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

Colonial Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Colonial Christian and Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Colonial Christian's defense has only allowed 30 points per game this season, so Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Heartland Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tabernacle Christian at 5:45 p.m. on January 24, 2025.
