The Bethune Bobcats can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Miami-Yoder by a score of 35-24. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Bethune also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Bethune's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Samantha Robinson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Robinson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madilyn Powell, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Miami-Yoder lost, one person who can't be blamed is Carley Bringhurst. Despite the final result, she scored eight points along with five steals. Bringhurst is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.
Bethune's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7. As for Miami-Yoder, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bethune will face off against the Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Idalia focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Friday. As for Miami-Yoder, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
