It was a good run, but the Loachapoka Indians unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Auburn on the road and fell 79-27. While losing is never fun, Loachapoka can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 382nd, while the Tigers are ranked 23rd).
Auburn's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Peyton Plott led the charge by scoring 12 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Plott has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Franklin, who scored four points along with ten assists and four steals.
Loachapoka's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Auburn, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season.
Loachapoka will take on the Blue Devils at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Auburn does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
