Softball Recap: West Central Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

West Central's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Frontier Falcons with a sharp 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

West Central got a big performance out of Brooklynn Lattimore, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Lattimore has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Cassidy Lattimore, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

West Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Frontier only posted an OBP of .278.

West Central pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Frontier, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Central will host North Newton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Frontier, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Twin Lakes at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
